  • Bicycle Master Plan
This project promotes alternative transport versus use of fossil fuel vehicles.  Co-ordinated among the civil sector, governmental bodies and international community, guided by the City of Skopje and managed by the NGO Proaktiva, the project envisages construction and reconstruction of the bicycle path that connects the far points of the West – East of the City of Skopje. The project also includes a wide-impact public campaign designed to raise awareness of  the benefits of using alternative transport in Skopje, a move that can significantly improve the environmental, social, health, economic and physical living conditions in Skopje.

  • "We are all in the circle!" Establishing a model for Poly Ethylene Terephtallate (PET) selection and collection in high schools
This local, one-year project established a primary PET selection and collecting system in all high schools in Gostivar. Youth working groups organised PET selection, involving their neighbours, friends and community in an action to reduce the quantity of plastic waste in the city. Educational classes promoted the concept of climate change and the sustainable use of natural resources. The funds from the PET collection were used for the in-school activities, decided by the school children.

  • Eco-labelling
The project supports the Ministry of Environment and Physical planning to raise public awareness on eco-labelling in the area of chemical detergents and tourists accommodation. This concept is a requirement within the environmental chapter of the EU process. The Ministry used the project funding to draft the criteria for Eco-labelling and involve the public into the concept that encourages businesses to market environmentally-kind products and services.

  • “Our Climate is Changing - So Must We! “Climate Change Awareness Raising Caravan
This project aims to raise public awareness on the effects of climate change and to promote actions that can tackle both global and local effects of climate change. It involves numerous creative young people from several municipalities who initiate actions in their own local communities. User-friendly educational materials for children and youth go into the causes and the effects of climate change, the local effects and the actions we can make to prevent further deterioration of our own, local environment.

  • Judiciary Capacity building on practical implementation of the Aarhus Convention
The Aarhus Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters is the cornerstone of the right of the citizens to know about environmental conditions in their community. The Convention stipulates that the general public must have easy access to comprehensive environmental information, participate in decision-making on green policies, legislation and other environmental matters and possibly even challenge decisions made in relation to environmental court cases. This project targets skill-development for the Regional Court judges who ensure better delivery of the Aarhus Convention. The project also covers awareness raising for the civil sector and the general public on their environmental rights and obligations.
