Anti-Corruption Umbrella Project
This project aims to provide technical assistance and advisory support to the Government of the Republic of Macedonia in tackling corruption by embedding Senior Anti-corruption Advisor to the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia. The role of the Advisor is to provide advice on international standards, best practices and regional experience, encourage co-ordination and assist in monitoring progress against anti-corruption indicators. Responding to the EU benchmark on corruption, the project also facilitates the transposition of legal advice in the national legislation, offers technical advice on creation of databases, provides practical training for corruption fighters at various state institutions and co-ordinates action with national anti-corruption stakeholders.

Technical assistance and awareness raising in support of the implementation of the Law for Free Access to Public Information
This law provides the legal background for availability of public information to the citizens and is the cornerstone of accountability and transparency of state functioning. For the first time, the public is given the right to ask questions and receive answers on state procedures and decisions. The Macedonian Institute for Media and the State Commission for Free Access to Information have worked together to bring the legislation closer to the public and facilitate the implementation. In the past 10 months, they have prepared a full database of the legal previsions, trained a core group of civil servants and NGOs as trainers to train the public administration in access to information, developed web-based resource, supported the procedures for free access to information in all state institutions and prepared information for citizens on "their right to know".
